Making abstract ideas into art.An elegant new headquarters for a global investment leader.
Our deep partnership with both the client team and local interior design team paid high dividends: an award-winning headquarters along with a new set of brand standards for Invesco workplaces across the globe.
The first design challenge: find a way to visualize something abstract, namely, financial analysis and guidance across global markets. Our solution was deceptively intuitive and straightforward- referencing the iconography and art of currency itself. We collected imagery from all major global currencies, brought them together, and then, using the traditional “guilloche” technique used to create forgery-resistant engraved printing plates, created entirely new patterns.
These repeated graphics were used throughout every key project touchpoint; as embedded metal bands through lobbies, privacy graphics on glass office fronts, embroidery on upholstered furniture, and even on a custom gift vase commemorating the ribbon-cutting of the new headquarters.
Award recognition went beyond that for the interior design, and included a Global Design Merit Award from the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD).
