We were engaged as specialists on the interior design team, charged with developing not only signage and wayfinding components, but also two unique graphic screens to act as centerpieces of this extraordinary rooftop pavilion.

Our process began by looking to the natural world, selecting the undulating boughs of a weeping willow as inspiration for a modern graphic motif. Utilizing extensive scaled mockups to develop the ideal visual weight and spacing, the final result is a soothing sculptural composition that, due to its dual layers, creates a soft moire effect as the viewer changes position.

The final fabrication of the screens, one in front or fabrict-wrapped panels, and another astride glass conference room windows, was deceptively complex. We partnered closely with a specialty metal manufacturer to ensure that the final result was flawless; the installed screens hang from a concealed track, with each water-jet cut aluminum panel secured together with hidden pins to keep everything in line. The custom matte powder-coated finish coordinated perfectly with the adjacent lacquered millwork panels, resulting in an elegant, light, and timeless composition that exudes calm.
